Will you be a living legend or a forgotten casualty?MechWarrior: Living Legends (MWLL) is a total conversion modification for Crysis. MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM). This will be achieved through the use of a mixed arms massively multiplayer gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons. MWLL is using the concepts pioneered by the “Battlefield” franchise and more recently Crysis, of a sandbox feel where you get to play what you want and how you want it. MWLL depicts the epic struggles between the two factions of Battletech “The Clans” and “The Inner Sphere”. Maps will typically have a mix of vehicles and infantry combat, using both of these to complete objectives as a team will be essential to winning rounds or campaigns in MWLL. In the project we will be bringing some of the legends of “MechWarrior” franchise back to life with new art and animations that do justice to these huge weapons of war and also do something that’s never be done before using the deep universe of Battletech. There are so many facets to Battletech and finally comes a title that is willing to explore them.By the 31st century, humanity has spread to thousands of worlds, while a handful of powerful empires wage continual war for the right to rule the stars. Foremost among the weapons used in that struggle are BattleMechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missile launchers, lasers, and charged-particle beam weapons, these fusion-powered war machines of articulated armor stand upward of ten meters high. Piloting them are MechWarrior’s, the best, most intensively trained men and women available. Like the armored knights of an earlier age, MechWarrior’s are popular heroes, and their exploits are the stuff of legends.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Características: * Massive, highly detailed outdoor environments. * Epic multiplayer missions that thrusts players into an ever-changing environment, forcing them to adapt their tactics and approach to conquer battlefields ranging from desert to tundra to alpine. * Take control of over 28 unique Battlemechs, 4 unique Tanks, 6 original ground vehicles and 8 different types of aircraft including vtol’s. * Take control of the infamous Battlesuits of the Battletech universe from the Clan “Elemental” to the Inner Sphere “Longinus” * High Tech “Omni” Vehicles allows gamers to augment their weapons and load outs in real time on the battlefield. * Players can choose to enhance their speed, strength, armor and electronics through a modular personal weapon and equipment system. * Take into your hands one of the 30+ handheld weapons and use them against the enemy, be is assault rifles, mini-grenades, laser rifles or hand held Particle Projector Cannons. * Updated game play engine brings the immense locations to life complete with realistic physics and dynamic lighting. * Limitless weapon combinations, play how you want, be it a mix between “engineering, and reconnaissance” all weapon combinations are up to the player. * Team-Based, Strategic Missions * Unique Factions and weapons unique to each faction with different advantages and disadvantages.. * Take Control of unique strategic assets such as BattleMech factories. * Outdoor dynamic lighting allows for every battle to be fought during day or night, with accurate simulation of shadows, atmosphere, vegetation, and weather. * Choose your own path through the open Battlefield by destroying obstacles and by using the environment itself against your enemies. * Built from the ground up on the next generation CryENGINE 2™, Crysis’ visuals define “state of the art,” with full DX10 support and scalable options to deliver solid performance on older machines. * Fully destructible environments. * Online multiplayer action with up to 32 players on the PC. * Work with and rely on your human team-mates to perform specific tasks and objectives. inCrysis Q&A - MechWarrior: Living LegendsFirstly, can you tell us a little bit about yourself, your background and how you got into game modding? My name is Sean (Criminal) Tracy. I live in Canada and I served 3 years in the Canadian Infantry and have now transferred to a Tech trade in the Navy. I have been into gaming my entire life and have always been a driven person. I started modding with my brother Daniel (Kamikaze) years and years ago with all sorts of games! The first one we put a significant effort into was modding for Never Winter Nights, from there it's been non-stop project after project for us as we complete them and then we dream bigger! It's one of the greatest feelings in the world completing these projects no matter what the size because you know that you've done what a lot of mods don't do anymore, is actually finish. Daniel has since been hired by Bioware corp. Whom if you don't know already are behind titles such as Mass Effect, Never Winter Nights and other top selling titles. This is one of my proudest moments since it was work that we did together on many mods and engines that got him the position there. That is one of the greatest feelings and since then it has been my goal to demonstrate the skills of my teams and to get these guys noticed. What is MechWarrior: Living Legends all about?By the 31st century, humanity has spread to thousands of worlds, while a handful of powerful empires wage continual war for the right to rule the stars. Foremost among the weapons used in that struggle are BattleMechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missile launchers, lasers, and charged-particle beam weapons, these fusion-powered war machines of articulated armor stand upward of fourteen meters tall. Piloting them are MechWarriors, the best, most intensively trained men and women available. Like the armored knights of an earlier age, MechWarriors are popular heroes, and their exploits are the stuff of legends. Will you become forgotten casualty or a living legend?MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM) - can you elaborate on that further?Basically the most immersive feeling games have most typically been first person shooters. The reason behind this as far as I believe is because of the simplicity in the view you truly ARE the character in the game rather than viewing from behind or over the shoulder. Simulation games take that concept into vehicles where you truly ARE the driver rather than just a character in the machine. The whole feeling we are going for is a merger of the two. Mixed arms games are relatively new over the last 5 years and have in my opinion some of the most freeing gameplay of any genre. It allows you to play how you want when you want and this has always been the draw for me. So what we are doing is bringing the extremely vast universe of battletech into a mixed arms game, battletech is not only mechs... but also tanks, infantry, VTOLs and aerospace. There is so much documentation out there for these so in all honesty the hardest part is deciding on which ones you'd like to add in! We truly want to give gamers a MechWarrior-type feel, but isn't simply a recreation of the old MechWarrior games. We want players that enjoy Battlefield 2 infantry battles to be able to play against and alongside simulation players from the old mechwarriors, because as fun as it is to squish infantry with an 80ton machine it's even more fun to take down an 80 ton machine as a infanteer! What can we expect in regards to battlemechs, weaponry, machinery etc.?We have a full list of all the Mechs, weaponry and vehicles on our website separated by the two major factions:http://www.mechlivin...ent/view/51/74/ for Inner Sphere equipment and weaponryandhttp://www.mechlivin...content/view/52 for Clan equipment and weaponry. What are you doing that is unique in the modding community? As I stated before we are not simply recreating a game that's already been made. This is running rampant in the modding community right now. There is always people trying to fix something that really isn't broken. What we are doing is far more interesting and far more challenging in putting together a fresh view of MechWarrior and not just recreating but bringing the Battletech universe to a mixed arms game that has never been done before for Battletech. It's also extremely difficult as the sheer amount of vehicles and the scale of them make gameplay balancing of utmost importance between a 100 ton 14 meter tall Battlemech all the way down to a 1.8m tall human. Why did you choose CryEngine 2?We choose CryEngine 2 for a variety of technical reasons and also most importantly for the forward thinking of Crytek. CryEngine 2 simply can do the most fantastic outdoor environments with destructible environments objects that do justice to the Battletech universe. The sheer scale of a lot of our assets needed an engine that could take advantage of this scale. In addition, to showcase the work of the artists we needed a next gen engine that wasn't simply going to be outdated in a year. How are you finding the Sandbox 2 editor? After working with many editors in the past the Sandbox 2 editor is a breath of fresh air. Of course there is a variety of bugs especially the deeper you go but that's more than expected. It really reduces the gap between in game assets and artists creations, it allows great level designers and amazing artists to do amazing work and have it in game and working in fractions of the time it would take in other editors. What support is Crytek providing you?Crytek is giving us a variety of support, however, due to the NDA we cannot release any further information other than the fact that they have provided us with a PRE-SDK.What is the progress so far?The progress so far is great, we have many custom vehicles in game and working and are working on new features daily, for infantry as well as vehicles. Something really interesting we have been spending a lot of time on recently is the battlesuits which are basically infantry in heavily armoured suits. These are a unique challenge since they are a mix between a vehicle and a character... which of course causes some challenges but we love challenges else we wouldn't be modding! When can we expect a release? We expect to release in November of 2008 this has been a goal for us from the beginning and will continue to stay as such. If it seems as though the goal will not be met tasking will be adjusted accordingly so that it does get released on time.Visit the MechWarrior: Living Legends website

mmm... no sé, espero que a fin de cuentas no sea más que otro juego que se ve bonito pero que no tiene funfactor y/o replay-value como Crysis (nota: el hecho de que un juego tenga modo de jugar en línea no le da funfactor/replay value)
